This is what we offer you here, the free open-source alternative that is thought to be the new OpenOffice. LibreOffice includes a spreadsheet creator, text edition tool, presentation creator, graphic editor, formula creator, and a database creation tool. I recently gave my partner (Jan) a new Imac running OS 10.5.5. Her old Mac was a dinosaur. We copied all her old Microsoft Word Docs to the Imac and I suggested & installed Open Office. When opening the old Word docs the pages are full of what appears to be formatting symbols / gobbledygook - its really a mess. Jan is yet to establish her internet with the new Imac so I am posting here trying to find some info / solution before she (out of frustration) removes Open Office and purchases a new copy of Word - me gritting teeth. We haven't had anything other than the briefest experience with Open Office and I am a PC / Word Perfect fella so am of little help. Any advice / suggestions will be greatly appreciated.Apache OpenOffice For MacOS (OS X)
